Anne-Barbara Ankum

Spring 2023 I met Alma Drekovic online. She was writing a book on highly gifted women and she invited me to write my story so she could use it for her book. And I did.

I am grateful to have been surrounded during my life by a father and best friend who were both highly gifted and my mother who was gifted. This has given me the possibility to see myself reflected in the eyes of the other, to feel seen and understood.

As a coach for (highly) gifted adults I noticed that in contact with the highly gifted I really enjoy the speed, complexity, intensity and profundity.

Last year (2025) I felt the need to do something with my knowledge and (own) experience (more than one on one). For this I became a member of HGEG and participate in the organisation of the ZHB café Leiden.

I studied Theology and Psychology, have been a researcher for dementia (more specifically BPSD: Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia) and a healthcare auditor/controller. I have my own practice ACT2inspire for coaching (highly) gifted adults.
